I am planning to go to Jordan this summer with my church, Calvary Church. A small group of college students, about 9, led by Drew and Kristy Garner, will have the 
opportunity to serve the churches in Amman by teaching English and working with the children. We will also be able to partner with church members in neighborhood ministry. Another exciting part of the trip is that we will be visiting some biblical and historic sites such as the Dead Sea, Petra, Mt. Nebo, and the Jordan River.
Last summer I felt God’s tug on my heart to go overseas. I decided that the next best step was to get a passport thinking that maybe God had something in store for me. I subsequently left for Wheaton College. During Christmas break I went to Urbana, a huge missions conference. I continued to stay in prayer about my plans for this summer. I had known about the Jordan trip since leaving on Urbana and finally decided to take a leap of faith and sign up. I am overjoyed to get the chance to experience Muslim culture first hand. I know this will be a very stretching time, and that is why I greatly need prayer supporters also. My goal is to get 10 faithful prayer supporters to pray while I am gone. The trip will take place July 20-August 4.
I am very excited to learn more about Muslim culture, and I hope to pick up a few phrases in Arabic. I am very eager to see what these people have to teach me about God. Lately I have felt a desire and heart for Muslim people and those in the Middle East. I have even been thinking about study abroad in Eygpt and learning Arabic, but that is a distance away yet. I want to see what God is doing around the world and through this experience grasp a better understanding of who He is. I also want to gain more faith as I step outside my comfort zone and trust in God’s providence.
I need to raise $2,165 to go to Jordan. This covers airfare, ministry expenses, and food/lodging.
