STEPPING UP: A Journey through the Psalms of Ascent ~ Beth Moore
Join us as we begin the next leg of our journey in January
Come explore Psalms 127-134 -- they're rich in history but give fresh direction for our present-day journey together.
In ancient times, traveling Jewish pilgrims sang these psalms on their way to the great festivals in Jerusalem.
In later Jewish history, these 15 psalms developed a strong connection to the 15 steps of the temple. In fact each psalm became labeled "a song of the steps."
Then throughout church history, a parallel has been seen between these Psalms of Ascent and the soul drawing closer to God -- moving up in a pilgrimage to the heart of God.
"Blessed are those whose strength is in the Lord, who have set their hearts on pilgrimage"
(Psalm 84:5)
Beth Moore says, "What if we really did set our hearts on pilgrimage? The more we unveil our faces to God and bare our souls to Him, expressing what is on our hearts, the safer we'll feel with Him and the closer we'll draw to Him. This is all about pilgrimage: we're on our way someplace where this is really going to matter."
We're praying that every one of us will step up to the next level with God!
Join us each week for a time to soak your tired feet in the living water of God's word.
Our time together will consist of:
