The book of Colossians is a power-packed letter from the apostle Paul to a group of Christ-followers in western Turkey in the first century. In it we’ll discover teachings, warnings, promises and invitations to godly living that are just as relevant today as they were 2000 years ago.
Though only 4 chapters long, it is overflowing with a rich understanding about the person and work of Christ, and His desired response from us – to give Him first place in our lives.
Like our Fall semester, this will be a companion study to the Sunday morning sermon series Pastor Johnny Miller will begin in January. At Study & Share we will offer 2 study options this Spring:
LIFECHANGE – This course uses a study guide to carefully examine a passage from Colossians each week. Faithful use of the materials will also help you learn essential skills that you can use any time you study the Scriptures on your own. HOMEWORK commitment is about 1 hour of study each week. COST for materials is $8.00.
PRECEPT UPON PRECEPT – This course uses a workbook for a more in-depth look at the book of Colossians. Faithful use of the materials will help you learn both essential and advanced skills that you can use to handle the Scriptures accurately on your own. HOMEWORK commitment involves 5 days of study, about 1 hour each day. COST for materials is $22.00.
NOTE: We are designing a format that will enable you to remain in your current small groups, regardless of which course of study you choose.
As we journey together in the book of Colossians, our prayer is that there will be many times we’ll find ourselves agreeing with the disciples who encountered Jesus on the road to Emmaus and later exclaimed, “Weren’t our hearts burning within us while He was speaking to us, explaining the Scriptures?” (Luke 24:32)
