Post Retreat Family CELEBRATION - Sunday
We will be returning on Sunday, January 18, at approximately 4:00 p.m. to the Fellowship Hall for a FAMILY CELEBRATION SERVICE where parents, their families, and the rest of the church are invited to come hear what God has done on the retreat.
With the Winter Retreat being one of the strongest spiritual influences in the Student Ministry, friends and family will hear brief recaps of the weekend via video and testimonies from students and leaders of this life-changing weekend experience.
Please make it a point to not just come "pick-up" your teen after the retreat, but stay and share in this memory maker event. |

Friday DEPARTURE Check-In
Check in time 3:45-4:00 p.m. on Friday night, January 16. Please be prompt. Make sure your teen checks in at the check-in table upon arriving so that we can account for everyone. Once checked in, your teen should go into the Youth Auditorium for group instructions for the weekend.
There is NO LATE BUS transportation. If your teen cannot make the 4:30 bus, it is the family's responsibility to see that they get to North Bay. We can provide you with a list of families who have indicated that their teen will be arriving at the retreat later in the evening, if YOU want to make some calls regarding carpooling. To request this list, please contact Betty at bbaltozer@calvarychurch.org or 509-6245. For directions to NorthBay Adventure Camp, you can go online to at www.northbayadventure.com.
BRING medicines this night: If you are sending medications for your teen, please turn them in at the check-in table. (See article in this newsletter entitled Medications / First Aid at Retreat.)
Please leave at home - CD's, CD players, cell phones, fireworks, etc., and excessive amounts of money. The only need for money would be for a soda machine. If these items are brought, Calvary Church is not responsible for their loss or theft.
Have your student EAT BEFORE or BRING A SACK DINNER to eat Friday night on the way there, as our first meal will be at 9:45 p.m.

Medications / First Aid at Retreat
A First Aid Team/Nurse will be accompanying the Student Ministries Winter Retreat.
· The First Aid Team/Nurse will be available for treating minor emergencies.
· The First Aid Team/Nurse will be responsible for the safe keeping of the medicines that you will send along for your child.
· The First Aid Team/Nurse can provide & dispense the manufacturer's recommended dose of these two over-the-counter medications - Tylenol & Ibuprofen - to your teen if needed, only if you check the appropriate box on the Parent Permission Slip for Medications. (If you do not have a Parent Permission Slip for Medications, you can pick this up from the Student Ministry office).
· It is the family's responsibility to provide any prescription medicines or other than those listed above over-the-counter medications for their teen if needed during the weekend.
· Students will be responsible to seek out the First Aid Team/Nurse at appropriate times to take medications and First Aid Team/Nurse will oversee teen taking the medication.
If you are sending medications for your child, here's how to package your teen's medications:
1) Fill out and sign Parent Permission Slip for Medications (blue sheet), listing your teen's medications and possible side effects. If you do not have a Parent Permission Slip for Medication, you can pick up this form from the Student Ministry office.
2) If your child needs to take prescription medication: Medicines should be in original container labeled with the prescription by your pharmacist or physician.
3) If you are providing over the counter medicines, they need to be in original bottles. Write teen's name on the bottles.
4) Do not put any medicines in other containers or group them with other medicines in unlabeled containers.
5) Put medications and Parent Permission Slip for Medications in a see-through zip-lock bag and mark outside of bag with the name of teen.
6) If there is more than one teen going from a family, please make a separate bag for each teen. Do not put more than one teen's medications in a bag.
7) Students needing inhalers are permitted to keep them and use as directed.
8) The time to hand in any medications that you are sending along for your child is at Check-In on Friday night prior to departure.
PLEASE NOTE: If you are not sending medications for your child, but wish to have the First Aid Team/Nurse provide and dispense the manufacturer's recommended dose of either of these two over-the- counter medications - Tylenol or Ibuprofen - you will need to check the appropriate box on the Parent Permission Slip for Medications, sign it, and turn it in at Check-In on Friday night prior to departure.
