March 27, 2020

As we move into our third weekend of not being able to gather together AT Calvary Church, we want to encourage you to continue to connect and care for each other AS Calvary Church. During the first week or so of this new reality, we as the staff of Calvary Church worked hard to move all our communication and content online (calvarychurch.org). This past week we have moved our focus to how can we continue to CONNECT and CARE for each other and the people of Calvary Church. Watch this video update from Pastor Beau for more details.

To our Calvary Church family-

We realize this last week has been filled with unprecedented change in all our lives.  A few Calvary staff members came together to share some encouraging reminders and Scripture verses. We wanted to give everyone an eternal perspective on a situation that is ever evolving. We are praying these thoughts bring a sense of hope and redirect your thoughts to what is most important during this time. We are praying for you and we are trusting you are staying connected to your church family in new and creative ways.

See you for church online this weekend!

Prayerfully – Pastor Beau.

March 16, 2020

Dear Calvary Family,

During these unprecedented times, we are working hard to keep you informed and connected here at Calvary Church. All worship services, events, programs and ministries taking place AT the church are canceled through March 28. We anticipate the cancellations being extended beyond that date so check back regularly for updates. We also realize there may be exceptions that will need to be dealt with case by case. At this time, our office IS remaining open.

We are grateful that so many of you joined with our online worship gatherings on Sunday. If you missed it Sunday, join us for our next online service Monday night at 6:30 pm. You will be able to interact with us during the service and submit prayer requests. (The service will include ASL translation.) We hope you will join us online at 6:30 but you can watch the entire service anytime on YouTube.

Even though we can’t meet AT Calvary Church, we will continue to live out our vision and values AS Calvary Church. Stay connected to our website and social media for ways you can engage with us and each other. Additional connection opportunities will be distributed through specific groups such as ABF’s, student ministry, children’s ministry, etc. Let’s continually look for ways to care for our neighbors and those in our spheres of influence. We have an opportunity like never before for the church to be the church.

Thanks to so many of you who have a plan to consistently and regularly give financially to Calvary Church. We realize this situation will present financial challenges for many. The church leadership will continue to be good and careful stewards of what God has entrusted to us. You can continue to give online, drop off your giving to the church office, and send it by mail.

March 13, 2020

Dear Calvary Family,

After closely and carefully monitoring the rapidly changing situation with Coronavirus (COVID-19), the leadership of Calvary Church has decided to cancel all worship services, ministries, and events for Sunday and Monday, March 15 and 16. We will continue our regular live streaming this Sunday, March 15 at both 9 and 11 am (calvarychurch.org/live). You can also tune in by radio (WDAC 94.5) at 11:00 am. Please make plans to join us through one of these two digital options on Sunday. All church activities and programs are also canceled through March 20, including the LiveSent breakfast on March 14.

PA Governor Tom Wolf has “strongly encouraged the suspension of large gatherings, events, conferences of 250 individuals or more.” Based on his recommendation and those of health and medical experts, we believe this is the most prudent decision at this time. We did not make this decision out of fear or haste. We believe it is in the best interest of our intergenerational church family and our community. We consulted staff, elders, and other church leaders locally and around the state. We will continue to update and engage with you through email, our website, and social media regularly.

This will be a great opportunity for us to truly be the church, the hands and feet of Jesus to our community. Even though we won’t gather AT Calvary Church, we will continue Pursuing Life in Christ AS Calvary Church. Let’s join together through the live stream this Sunday, stay connected to your small group or ABF, and look for ways to meet needs in your neighborhood. Join us as we continue to pray to God, who is our refuge and strength, our ever-present help in time of trouble. (Psalm 46:1)
