Winter Retreat 2021

The Winter Retreat is a high-energy event in January for teens and leaders of Calvary Student Ministries (7th-12th Grades)! The Winter Retreat will take place at High Point Camp in Birdsboro, PA. This event is the highlight of the ministry year for students, leaders, and staff. While the retreat will look a little different this year and we can’t all go away for the whole weekend, we are excited to pack the entire Winter Retreat into one awesome day full of food, games, worship, teaching, and lots of fun!

- WR Kick-off Night! -
January 13 - 6pm–8pm @ Calvary Church

6:00pm - Check-In (until 6:45pm)
               (Students can pick-up their WR Shirt if all payments and health forms have been turned in)
6:45pm - WR Kick-off and Student Group Discussions

Here are the details for when we depart and return for our WR21 Weekend:

- Senior Night -
January 15 - 7pm–10pm @ High Point Camp

7:00-7:15pm - 12th Grade Students and Leaders arrive at High Point Camp
7:15-10:00pm - Senior Night at High Point Camp
10:00pm - Students and Leaders not staying overnight; leave High Point Camp

- High School -
January 16 - 8am–9pm @ High Point Camp

7:45-8:15am - Check-In at Calvary Church (CSM Cafe)
8:15am - Buses leave Calvary Church for High Point Camp
9:40pm - Students and Leaders arrive back at Calvary Church (CSM Cafe)

- Middle School -
January 17 - 8am–8pm @ High Point Camp

7:45-8:15am - Check-In at Calvary Church (CSM Cafe)
8:15am - Buses leave Calvary Church for High Point Camp
8:40pm - Students and Leaders arrive back at Calvary Church (CSM Cafe)

Registration

Registration Costs:
Middle School Day - $50.00
High School Day - $50.00
12th Grade Overnight and High School Day - $85.00

There is a $10.00 deposit required for each student at the time that they register.

All Payment Balances and Forms are due by January 13, 2021.

In order to attend the CSM Winter Retreat, we will need the following required forms: (click to download)
- Calvary Medical Release Form (if you did not submit one during Fusion)
- Secondary Medications Form (required if your student is bringing medicine)

These forms will be available for you to download during your online registration,
or you can contact Tammy McDaniel for a hard copy of any of these forms.

Who is the Speaker?

Rob Chifokoyo is a passionate follower of Jesus, husband, dad, pastor, author, speaker, and podcaster. Born and raised in Zimbabwe, Rob brings a much needed multicultural and global perspective to the church. Rob’s unique story and energetic presence have made him an up and coming speaker and author. His kidney transplant journey, as well as his cross-cultural pastoral experience, speak to the heart of students, non-profits, and churches. Rob is the host of the podcast Revival Loading, co-host of Cookies and Cream, and is a co-founder of Ishe Publishing with his brother T.J, an initiative that is amplifying minority voices in the world of literature. Rob is the author of four books, including Hope Over Hype, The Blessing in Less, and Before You Save the World.

What should i pack?

Here are a few packing guidelines: 
- Bible and pen
- Wear warm clothes! (for indoor & outdoor activities)
- You are allowed to bring a backpack with anything you need for the day. All bags will be safely stored in the dining hall and will be accessible throughout the day.

Any students found with drugs, alcohol, or tobacco products will go home immediately. 
Calvary Church is not responsible for the loss or theft of personal items.

Frequently asked questions

Q. What is included in registration?

A.Registration for the Winter Retreat includes: transportation to/from the retreat, all activities, lunch and dinner, a Winter Retreat student booklet, and a Winter Retreat sweatshirt.

Q. How do you get there?

A. Transportation is included! Students arrive for Check-In the morning of the event. Students will ride together with their Student Group on a bus, with their leader. We will return to Calvary Church that evening (see schedule for dates and times).

Q. Is there any free time?

A. Yes! There will be "Free Time" with lots of activities for students to enjoy! There is an indoor games room and gym, flag football, laser tag, pool & table games, and a great outdoor ropes course.

Q. Should we send any money?

A. Spending money is optional. There is a coffee shop that will be open during Free Time where students can purchase hot drinks, soft drinks, and snacks.
