Summer Small Group Leaders

We invite you to facilitate a 2024 summer small group!
Groups will begin meeting in May or June (varying by group), and you, as the leader, will choose the day, frequency, group size, and topic. We will provide training, materials, and support along the way.
See below for more information on group topics.

For those interested in facilitating, a leader training will take place on Sunday, April 28, at 11:00am in the East Room.

Home Improvement Parenting

Using video and other resources, this series contains eight sessions, each designed to help you embed your parenting practices in your faith. Our hearts are the core of parenting, and that’s the focus of this series. You will begin each session by exploring a theology that’s essential for raising children. Then, you will be provided with practical ways for you to implement this theology with your children. These strategies are based on sound biblical principles and are proven to be effective in strengthening family relationships. The Art of Neighboring

What if Jesus meant that we should love our actual neighbors? When Jesus was asked about the greatest command, he said it is to love God with everything we have and to love our neighbors as ourselves. Most of us have turned this simple idea of loving our neighbors into a nice saying, putting it on bumper stickers and refrigerator magnets, and then going on with our lives without actually putting it into practice. What would happen if every follower of Jesus took the Great Commandment literally? Is it possible that the solution to our society’s biggest issues has been right under our noses for the past two thousand years? This series contains six sessions.

Work as Worship

Many Christians—from the CEO, to the teacher, to the stay-at-home mom—spend a great deal of time working, and yet do not realize how their work intersects with their faith. They compartmentalize their faith to exist only on Sunday morning and see the rest of their week as having little to do with their walk with God. Scripture, however, does not divide the sacred and secular parts of our lives. God gives us our work, talent, and skills so that, through them, we might worship Him. This six-part Bible study video resource will challenge you to consider the reason God calls us to work. It will cause you to consider why He may have you in your current position and encourage you to look beyond how your job makes you feel to see purpose and significance in your work. Parenting Boys and Girls in a Gender-Confused World

(This option will require additional training on May 5.) This eight-session video course aims to give parents practical guidance, equipping them as they seek to disciple sons and daughters about what it means to be a boy or girl—a person created in love to bear God’s image. We want to help parents help their kids grow in understanding God’s design so they can think biblically about gender and have the knowledge and courage to explain and defend the goodness of our Creator’s intent. And, of course, we want to guide parents in how to offer compassionate help if their child is struggling in this area. (Content from Harvest USA)
