“God often does His deepest work in us through life’s hardest moments.”
We believe God’s redeeming work reaches into every part of our lives—including our pain and struggles. Pastoral counseling at Calvary Church is designed to help you experience His comfort, truth, and transforming grace right where you are, as the hope and presence of Jesus Christ meet you in the challenges you face.
Our counselors seek to walk alongside you with biblical wisdom and compassionate care, creating a safe place for honest conversation and reflection on God’s Word. As you wrestle with life’s challenges, we trust that the Lord will bring renewed strength, deeper faith, and lasting peace as you learn to rest more fully in Him.
Counseling is available, as capacity allows, for those who are part of the Calvary Church family.
We provide:
- Individual counseling
- Marriage counseling
- Pre-engagement and pre-marital counseling
- Consultation for helping others
We also offer assessment and referral services to help connect you with trusted, biblically based care when additional support is needed.
If you are in need of counseling, we encourage you to take this step of faith and reach out. Whether you are seeking healing, clarity, or encouragement, we would be honored to walk with you.
Meet Our Counselors

George May
Pastor of Counseling & Family Ministries
George May received his M.A. in Counseling from Mission Seminary in 1994 (then Biblical Theological Seminary) and is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Pennsylvania. George works primarily with adults and older teens. He loves counseling related to relationships: marriage, parental coaching, extended family challenges, conflict coaching, or friendship relationships. Other areas of interest include anxiety, depression, addiction, anger, career counseling, men’s issues, pre-engagement, spiritual life questions, forgiveness, and divorce recovery. George seeks to help people grow in their relationship with God, experiencing how the character of God and the truth of His Word relate to the struggle at hand. He has special interest in God’s design of the brain—and how it relates to counseling issues—and God’s design for attachment and how relationship dynamics play a key role in our lives. At Calvary, George is part of the teaching team in the Marriage Builders ABF (for engaged and newlywed couples), the Marriage Enrichment Class, and parenting classes. George and his wife, Linda, have been married since 1990, have three adult children, and love their role as grandparents. George enjoys many outdoor activities including biking and hiking. Other hobbies include chess, word games, visiting historical sites, and time with family.
