The Winter Retreat is a spiritually impacting weekend for High School students and leaders of Calvary Student Ministries! The Winter Retreat will take place at North Bay Adventure Camp in North East, MD. This event is a stake-in-the-ground moment for our students as they pursue their walk with God. We are so excited for High School students to have a weekend away to grow deeper in their relationship with God and grow together with one another as we pursue a life in Christ.

This year’s theme is “Worthy” as we dive into the book of Colossians. As we look at who Christ is and what makes him worthy of our praise and devotion to Him. Our lives are meant to be in service to Christ. We want to dive into the discussion of how we are living and if we are truly in step with the life, teaching, and mission of Jesus Christ.

Who is the Speaker?
Meet Ryan Francis! He and his wife, Joyce, have four amazing kids. Ryan is the Pastor of Student Ministry at Immanuel Bible Church in Springfield, VA. He has worked specifically with High School students for the past 7 years at IBC. Ryan was born in Los Angeles and raised in St. Louis. He earned his B.S. in mathematics at Illinois College, where he played football and came to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. He then returned to L.A. to complete a Masters of Divinity at The Master’s Seminary before working as the Pastor of Student Ministry at Immanuel Bible Church.

Q. What is included in registration?
A. Registration for the Winter Retreat includes: transportation to/from the retreat, all activities, meals, a Winter Retreat student booklet, and a Winter Retreat sweatshirt.
Q. How do you get there?
A. Transportation is included! Students arrive for Check-In the evening of the event. Students will ride together with their Student Group on a coach bus to and from the retreat, with their leader. (see schedule for dates and times).
Q. Is there any free time?
A. Yes! There will be "Free Time" with lots of activities for students to enjoy! There is a gym, High ropes course, rope swing, zipline, and hangout spaces.
Q. Should we send any money?
A. Spending money is optional. We will have WR merch the students are able to buy, as well as snacks and drinks!
