august 2019

Summer is over and school's back in session! Here's a look back at the month of August and a look forward to the fall start-up of our mid-week programs!

Our summer series – Seeing God through the Psalms – was brought to a close on Monday, August 12. Pastors Beau, Scott, Dave, and a handful of guest preachers did a really great job of helping us to see God in new ways by looking at Him through the poetic lines of the Psalms.

Next, Beau brought us a one-week series entitled Needed and Known, in which we got to hear many different stories of how God has been working in and through the people of Calvary Church using His local body. If you missed these stories, you can find the videos on our Stories page.

Lastly, we jumped back into Resolute to learn how to balance the important concepts of Resting Hard and Working Hard.

Our final Student Ministry trip of 2019 took place during the first week of August, as students and leaders participated in a Student Life Camp in northeast PA. Those who went were challenged in their relationship with God by spending personal time in God’s Word, discussing Biblical themes in small groups, and engaging in a large group as they listened to the camp speaker. They also had the opportunity to serve in multiple capacities each day in the afternoon. We ask that you continue to pray for our students as they return to school and also begin Student Groups on Wednesday nights starting next week.

Student Groups isn’t the only thing starting up next week though! ALL of our mid-week programming for Adults and Children also begins next week, so be sure to go to the ministries tab on our website and find the programs that best suit you and your family!
