Kids Choir

Kid’s Choir is designed to give children the opportunity to develop their musical talents for the purpose of leading others in worship and bringing glory to the Lord through singing. Our Kid’s Choir will have the opportunity to lead in worship services 4 times a year. Registration is required to join Kid’s Choir and will be open at different times of the year so that if you miss a session, you can register for the next one.

Kid’s Choir will rehearse on Wednesday evenings from 6:00-6:30 pm during the school year. There will be 4 rehearsals and a dress rehearsal before each time the children sing in church. We are asking the children to commit to being at these rehearsals if they plan to sing on the Sundays they are scheduled to lead in church. There will be several weeks of break between sessions so they will not be rehearsing every week. Please see the attached schedule of rehearsals and performances to determine if your child is available to attend the rehearsals and the performance dates before registering them.

Please be aware that on the Sundays that the children sing in church they will need to be in the auditorium for soundcheck at 7:00am to be ready to sing for the 8:00am service. We understand that this is early, but it is necessary so that we can do our line-up and run through our songs. This will only happen a total of 4 times per year, so we hope that you will be able to make the commitment to having your child there for soundcheck.

For rehearsals, the grades will be combined in the following way:

• Kindergarten and 1st Grade – meeting in the K2 room
• 2nd and 3rd Grade – meeting in the 5th Grade room
• 4th to 6th Grade – meeting in the choir room

Children who choose to register for Kid’s Choir can also participate in Discovery Clubs which meet on Wednesdays at 6:30 pm. If your child stays for Discovery Clubs they will be taken to their classes by their Kid’s Choir teachers at the end of choir. All other children should be picked up promptly at 6:30 pm in their Kid’s Choir rooms. Any children not picked up by 6:35 pm will be taken to Discovery Clubs.
