Kids Choir is designed to give children in Kindergarten-sixth grade the opportunity to develop their musical talents for the purpose of leading others in worship and bringing glory to the Lord through singing. Our Kids Choir will have the opportunity to lead in worship services four times a year. Registration is required to join Kids Choir and will be open at different times of the year so that, if you miss a session, you can register for the next one.
Kids Choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings from 6:00-6:30pm during the school year.
There will be four rehearsals and a dress rehearsal before each Sunday the kids sing in church. We ask the kids to be committed to attending these rehearsals if they plan to sing on the Sunday they are scheduled to lead in church. There will be a multi-week break between sessions, so we will not rehearse every week. Please see the schedule of rehearsals and Sunday services to determine your child’s availability before registering.
Please be aware that, on the Sundays when the kids sing in the worship service, they will need to be in the auditorium for soundcheck at 7:00am. We understand that this is early, but it is necessary so that we can do our line-up and run through our songs. This will only happen a total of four times per year, so we hope that you will be able to commit to having your child there for soundcheck.
For rehearsals, we will combine Kindergarten and first grade, second grade and third grade, and fourth through sixth grade.
Those who choose to register for Kids Choir can also participate in Discovery Clubs, which meet on Wednesday at 6:30pm. If your child stays for Discovery Clubs, they will be taken to their classes by their Kids Choir teachers at the end of rehearsal. All other children should be picked up promptly at 6:30pm at their Kids Choir rooms. Any children not picked up by 6:35pm will be taken to Discovery Clubs.
